Summer Bucket List: See A Movie

Finally starting to catch up the blog now that all the kiddos are back in school! Hallelujah!

Sunday (the July 23rd), I finally had a day off after nine days straight! (I let everyone know I had worked nine days straight too. I’m sure they were sick of hearing it. LOL) It was so freaking nice!

We decided that we were going to see a movie. The kiddos were set on seeing Monsters University. And we quickly agreed. I mean, who didn’t love Monsters Inc.?

First we headed to Wal-Mart. Because nobody pays for candy at the theater! Thank goodness for Silas’ diaper bag! Lots of pockets for all that awesome candy yo! We bought milk duds, red hots, sweet tarts, a 2 lb bag of assorted Hershey’s chocolates, nerds, whoppers, you name it, we probably bought it.

We got our seats and ate all the popcorn during the previews. Typical! Which brings me to tell you how freaking excited I am to see the movie Frost! Watch the trailer, its super cute!

Silas did really well. I was afraid that we were going to be the parents everyone in the theater is bitching about because ‘they brought their freaking baby to a theater!’ He did decide to get a little chatty during the previews. He was just really learning that he had a voice and could make all these cool sounds with it, but I just popped the boob in his mouth and all was quiet again. Lol He ate, watched about five minutes worth of previews and slept until the end.

The movie was cute. The kiddos enjoyed it and we enjoyed it. And I had chocolate. So all was well in the world.

Summer Bucket List: Start A Disney World Savings

Jonathan and I have talked about going to Disney World since last year. We had originally planned to go this year, but we added a new baby to the family! So worth not going to Disney World! We definitely want to go before the kiddos are too much older. We really want them to just enjoy it as much as possible.

We started talking about it again a couple of months back. After talking about it we decided we needed to set a date for the trip and quit just talking about it.

We’ve invited some family along to make the trip that much more fun! I think that Jonathan and I are more excited about the trip than the kiddos! I’m pretty sure I’m the only one excited about buying Mickey ears!

Our plan as of now is for a March 2014 trip.

It’s a WHOLE lotta money to be saved up, but we got this! We’ve done a lot of figuring and planning with our budget and savings.

To get the kiddos involved and more excited about it we needed a visual savings. So we had them decorate an extra wipes container. They loved it. The girls more so than Joseph, but their drawings turned out super cute!

With all the change we had collected, and tips that I had earned, we started our Disney World savings with $233.50! Not too bad! Only $4,766.50 to go. 😛

Summer Bucket List: Play In The Rain

We actually got some rain and we almost missed the chance to play in it because we had all just  sat down for breakfast and I was being ‘that mom‘. The kiddos asked if they could go play in it, and I said “after breakfast”. Then the rain stopped! I was so angry. Then 20 minutes later it started to rain again. The kiddos almost missed it again because I told them to “get in play clothes first.” Then I was pissed at myself for that. About an hour later it rained again, and I wanted them to enjoy it while it was good. We told them to just run out there. They had lots of fun. And then Joseph and Tressa started splashing one another with mud. 🙂

Summer 2013 Bucket List

Typically, we’re pretty boring around here. We just hang out at home and break up sibling fights, clean toilets, watch Netflix and change diapers. So this Summer, we wanted to make a little more enjoyable without breaking the bank. A couple of weeks ago, Jonathan, myself and the kiddos got together and made a list of things that we would like to do this Summer that were free or cheap, with a couple splurges.

I was pretty surprised at the amount of things and the creativity of things that they came up with. We realize that all of them may not be completed, but it will be fun to do as much as possible. Quick Update

Doctor’s appointment went well this morning.

I am dilated to a 2, 2½. Great progress from Wednesday. He stripped my membranes again.

If I do not go into labor by Sunday, I am to go to labor and delivery at 4pm. I will receive an enema (Yay!… Not!)(Apparently my doctor likes a clean delivery. Lol) about an hour or two after he will come in and place something called  laminaria into my cervix. It is the only method that he can use with my previous c-sections. Basically it is a seaweed stem that will absorb the moisture and gradually swell to help dilate and soften my cervix. It will have to be in place for 12 hours. During that 12 hours, I will have to lie flat and use a bed pan if I need to use the bathroom. Ugh! This all sounds so exciting, right?!

After that 12 hours he will check my progress and we will see where things go from there.

I have had a lot of cramping and bloody show from this mornings appointment.

Funny TMI: I have not worn a pad in years and now I’m wearing this pad that they gave me (because of the bloody show) and I feel like I’m walking bowlegged and waddling. LMAO! I forgot what it felt like to wear these things!

Wish us luck guys!!!

Pregnancy Week 38

How far along? 38 Weeks
Total weight gain: 16lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yep.
Stretch marks? I do have some stretchmarks that are getting longer.
Sleep: Terrible! I’m up 50 freaking times to pee and this extreme ligament pain is making it really difficult.
Best moment this week: Completing my ‘to buy’ and ‘to do’ lists.
Miss Anything? You really don’t want to see the list…
Movement: YES! (First movements: 8/30/12) His movements are actually painful/uncomfortable now, but still just as active as ever.
Food cravings: Anything cold. Typically, I only drink my bottled water at room temperature, lately, I’ve had to have it in the freezer until it’s a little icy before I’ll drink it.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I’ve been very nauseous the last few days. Not sure if it’s a sickness or just nerves about the delivery being so damn close.
Have you started to show yet: Yes
Gender prediction: It’s a BOY!
Labor Signs: Hopefully soon!!!!
Belly Button in or out? Out!
Wedding rings on or off? Off. 😦 I’ve been wearing them on a necklace.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but I just feel miserable.
Looking forward to: My doctor’s appointment on Friday!!!

Doctor’s appointment update (2/06/13):

  • I’m finally dilated!!! Only to a 1, 1 ½ he said, but it’s progress made.
  • My cervix is favorable for a vaginal delivery!
  • He stripped my membranes. This wouldn’t have been so bad if my cervix were not posterior and he was not trying to pull the damn thing forward! OUCH!!!
  • Ordered to have lots of sex and do lots of walking before I see him again Friday morning. He told me he hopes to see me in labor within the next 24-48 hours of my appointment this morning. This may or may not happen, we’re just hoping.
  • At Friday’s appointment, he will check me again and see if my cervix has made any progress, possibly strip my membranes again and then the BEST PART! We’re cancelling the c-section and scheduling an induction for that day instead!!!!! I’m over the freaking moon right now! A trial of labor is all I asked for. And I’m getting it!
  • Blood pressure is up slightly, but not enough to be worried about.

Symptoms and other happenings:

  • Heartburn. Of course…
  • Breast tenderness.
  • Lost my mucous plug!
  • Severe round ligament pain in my leg.
  • More frequent Braxton Hicks.
  • Swollen gums.
  • Lots of pressure ‘down there’.
  • I’ve felt pretty whale-ish lately.
  • Breasts leaking more.
