Summer Bucket List: Play In The Rain

We actually got some rain and we almost missed the chance to play in it because we had all justΒ  sat down for breakfast and I was being ‘that mom‘. The kiddos asked if they could go play in it, and I said “after breakfast”. Then the rain stopped! I was so angry. Then 20 minutes later it started to rain again. The kiddos almost missed it again because I told them to “get in play clothes first.” Then I was pissed at myself for that. About an hour later it rained again, and I wanted them to enjoy it while it was good. We told them to just run out there. They had lots of fun. And then Joseph and Tressa started splashing one another with mud. πŸ™‚

Dear Tressa

Today you are six. You are a ‘big kid’. When will you listen and stop growing up already?!

You weigh 42.4lbs and are 46 Β½” (3′ 10 Β½”) tall. You have grown exactly two inches and 2.4 pounds since last year. You wear a size 6 pant and shirt and a size 12 Β½ shoe.

You are still a thumb-sucking junkie. Not quite sure how we’re going to break that habit before you start losing your baby teeth. You have finally gotten over the fear of starting off on your bike without help. You ride that bike like a champ now. Fearless and able to look up from the ground. Lol

You love talking to yourself. Before your showers, you spend a good 15 minutes looking at and talking to yourself in the mirror. It’s hilarious! Speaking of, I got some pretty funny video of you when you didn’t know I was recording this morning. I can’t wait to share it with the world! Haha!

You have found a love for Justin Bieber. You are practically obsessed with him. You even asked if I knew where he lived so I could take you there. Sorry kiddo. You’re grounded from boys for life!

You are always saying the silliest things that just make me laugh so much. You’re definitely a little goofball. Right now you love telling people to “quit being a butler.”, which I assume is your safe word for butthead. You also love the word duh! There is almost never a span of more than 15 minutes that you go without complimenting someone or telling them how much you love them. You are just the sweetest little lovebug of a child ever.

Happy birthday little lovebug.

Love,

Mommy & Daddy

Dear Amaya

Six. That is how many years old you are today. I am amazed every day at how much you’ve grown and have come to be the big girl that you are.

You weigh 40.2lbs. and are 45 ΒΎ” (3 ft. 9 ΒΎ”) tall. You have only gained 1.8lbs and grown 2 ΒΌ” since last year. You wear a size 6 shirt and pant and a size 12 Β½ shoe.

You are an extremely outgoing little girl. You love to talk to every person we come in contact with. There’s no telling what will come out of your mouth. I pretty much have the “Oh crap what is she gonna say this time?” thought in my head every time you decide to spark up conversation with the people waiting to pay for their items or the neighbors walking to their apartment. You love to play outside and ride your bike with the neighbor kids, but you are still a big princess. You’re so girly. You love to wear dresses and skirts and have your hair fixed. You’ve developed a love for makeup (Oh boy!) and all things glitter.

You’ve become a little smart aleck. There is almost always a sarcastic remark coming from you. You’re favorite things to say are “Whatever!”, “I looooooovvveeee this.”, and “Oh sure.”

Today you have requested eating pizza and popcorn only. You enjoy playing games on the Wii and Xbox with your brother. That’s pretty much the only time you two are not fighting. You love all things pink and yellow and playing with your Barbie’s. You used to always ask for me to cut your hair anytime I would cut someone else’s. This year, you have requested to grow your hair out and only receive “tiny, tiny trims”. You’re pretty much obsessed with your hair these days.

You are a bright and beautiful little girl. Happiest birthday Amaya Riley!

Love,

Mommy & Daddy

What They Wish To Do

The kiddos are on spring break until the 9th. I asked them to write the things that they would like to do while on the break so that we were not watching tv all day, every day. This is what they came up with.

Joseph

  • Have a sleepover.
  • Play Clue.
  • Play the Xbox.
  • Play the Wii.
  • Go to Kangarooz.
  • Play Yahtzee.
  • Go to the park.
  • Play on the computer.
  • Play on the iPod.
  • Play on your phone.
  • Play Candy Land.
  • Play kickball.

Amaya

  • Play pin the tail on the donkey.
  • Have a pretend sleepover.
  • Play ring around the rosy at the beach.
  • Get a baby.
  • Go to the park.
  • Have a tea party at the beach.
  • Celebrate Joseph’s birthday.

Tressa

  • Pin the tail on the donkey.
  • Have a pretend sleepover.
  • Have a great big party.
  • Hang out with just the girls.
  • Go to Nana and Papa’s.
  • Build a fort and have a club.
  • Have a dance party.
  • Go to the beach.
  • Play outside.

So we’ve got lots to do!

We have already done a few things and they have had a day at the park with just daddy and they loved it! I’m pretty sure they’re getting sick and tired of each other already. They have fought nonstop for the last two days. Every day somebody is the meanest brother or sister ever and they will not be friends with each other anymore. Five minutes later, they never ever said that. Lol There have been a lot of time outs and talks about what is nice and good behavior and explaining that just because it’s spring break doesn’t mean your teeth do not have to be brushed and chores don’t have to be done. They aren’t too fond of those rules!

Side story!

Yesterday Amaya walked into the bathroom while I was taking my OPK and asked what I was doing and what I was dipping my “stick” into. I told her that I was dipping it into my pee and she got all kinds of grossed out. Lol THEN came the questions… How did you get your pee in the cup? Does it smell like pee even if it’s not in the toilet? Why do you dip the stick in? What are those lines? It was too funny. I then told her I was testing to see when my egg would be ready for baby making and she lit up! She said, “Oh cool! I hope we get a baby tomorrow because I can mark that off my list! Yay!”

These children are too much!

Happy spring break everyone! Wish us luck in keeping sane until Tuesday when the kiddos are back in school and of course good luck for our TTCing!

Tressa-isms

“My tummy hurts because my poop is too big.”

_______________

“Mom. Can I have some of these?”

“Some of what?”

*She hands me my birth control pills*

“NO! Those are Mommy’s medicine.”

“Are you sick?”

“No. Mommy isn’t sick. I take those so that we don’t get pregnant.”

“But I want you to have a baby! LOTS of babies! When these are all gone you can have a baby.”

*Shoot me!*

(Well she got her wish… Sort of. We’re TTC, but not for lots of babies. :P)

_______________

As I’m making egg salad sandwiches.

“Mom. What do I smell?”

“Eggs.”

“It smells like farts or something.”

“Eggs smell like that, honey.”

“I don’t want to eat anything that smells like farts! I’m not hungry.”

_______________

“Mom! My farts are talking for my poop.”

_______________

Amaya says, “Dad you are very weird.”

Jonathan: “Yeah. I get that a lot.”

Tressa: “You are handsome too.”

“Yeah. I get that a lot.”

“You are funny too dad.”

“Yeah. I get that a lot.”

Amaya: “I love you daddy.”

Tressa: ” He gets that a lot too.”

LMAO!!!!!

_______________

“Well, he told me to.”

“Do you do everything your brother tells you?”

“No. Not all the time, but maybe I will.”
